கீதா ஜீவன், திருச்சி பிஷப் பால் வசந்தகுமார் எழுதிய ஒரு புத்தகத்தை வெளியிட, பிரதியை என். சிவா, திமுக எம்.பி பெறுகிறார்.
தமிழகத்தில், ஏன் மற்றும் உலகம் முழுவதும் ஆயிரக்கணக்கான பிஷப்புகள், பாதிரியார்கள், பாஸ்டர்கள் செக்ஸ், கற்பழிப்பு, கோடிக்கணக்கில் பணம் கொள்ளை, கையாடல், போன்ற வேலைகளில் ஈடுபட்டிருக்கும்போது, இப்படி ஒரு மாநாடு திருச்சியில் நடப்பது ஆச்சரியமே.
பிஷப் ஹெப்பர் கல்லூரியில் மே 21 முதல் 23 வரை இந்த மாநாடு நடைபெற்றது, இதில் கலந்து கொள்ள கிருத்துவர்களிடையே கருத்து வேற்றுமை, உட்பூசல்கள் இருந்ததால், சில கோஷ்டிகள் இம்மாநாட்டைத் தவிர்த்தன. குறிப்பாக சென்னையில் கருணாநிதியுடன் உலா வரும் பிஷப்புகள், பாதிரிகள், சர்ச்-ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்கள் முதலியோர் காணப்படவில்லை. பல விஷயங்கள் அமைதியாகவே அடக்கி வாசிக்கப் பட்டன. ஆய்வுக்க்கட்டுரைகள் கூட முன்னமே பெறப்பட்டு, தமக்குச் சாதகாமாக உள்ளவற்றை மட்டும் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப் பட்டு பிரபாகரன் என்பவரால் பதிப்பிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
பிஷப் பேசும்போது, செந்தமிழ் இலக்கியம் ஊக்குவிக்க ஆவண செய்வோம் என்ற தீர்மானத்தை நிறைவேற்றி, இனி சர்ச்சுகளில் தூயத் தமிழையே உபயோகிப்பதாக முடிவெடுத்துள்ளதாகக் கூறினார். பாரதிதாசன் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில், தமிழ் கிருத்துவ இலக்கிய ஆராய்ச்சிற்காக ஒரு தனி நாற்காலியை ஏற்பத்தப் போவதாக கூறினார். பிஷப் ஹெப்பர் கல்லூரியில் உலகக் கிருத்துவ அகடெமி ஒன்று உருவாக்ப் படுவதாகவும் தெரிவிக்கப் பட்டது.

திருச்சி: ‘திருச்சி பிஷப் ஹீபர் கல்லூரியில், வரும் 21ம் தேதி முதல் 23ம் தேதி வரை உலக கிறிஸ்தவ தமிழ் மாநாடு நடக்கிறது’ என, திருச்சி- தஞ்சை மண்டல பேராயர் மற்றும் பிஷப் ஹீபர் கல்லூரி தலைவர் பால் வசந்தகுமார், உலக கிறிஸ்தவ தமிழ்ச்சங்க செயல் தலைவர் ஏசுதாஸ் ஆகியோர் கூறினர்.
இதுகுறித்து அவர்கள் நிருபர்களிடம் மேலும் கூறியதாவது:தமிழ் ஆர்வலர்கள், எழுத்தாளர்கள், கல்வியாளர்கள் கிறிஸ்தவ இலக்கியத்தைக் கற்பிக்க, கிறிஸ்தவ தமிழ் இலக்கியங்களை மேம்படுத்த, அதை உலககெங்கும் எடுத்துச் செல்லும் நோக்குடன் உலக கிறிஸ்தவத் தமிழ்ப் பேரவை, 1981ல் முன்னாள் பிரதம பேராயர் சாலமன் துரைசாமியால் திருச்சியில் நிறுவப்பட்டது.
முதல் உலக கிறிஸ்தவ தமிழ் மாநாடு திருச்சியில் 1981ம் ஆண்டு நடந்தது. அதைத் தொடர்ந்து, அமெரிக்காவில் நியூயார்க் நகரில் இருமுறையும், சென்னையில் இரு முறையில் மாநாடு நடந்தது. கடைசியாக, 1996ம் ஆண்டு நியூயார்க் நகரில் மாநாடு நடந்தது.ஆறாவது கிறிஸ்தவ உலக தமிழ் மாநாடு, பிஷப் ஹீபர் கல்லூரியில் மே 21ம் தேதி முதல் 23ம் தேதி வரை, திருச்சி- தஞ்சை மண்டல பேராயர் பால் வசந்தகுமார் தலைமையில் நடக்கிறது.
துவக்கவிழாவில் மத்திய அமைச்சர் ராஜா, தமிழக அமைச்சர்கள் நேரு, செல்வராஜ், கீதா ஜீவன், ராஜ்யசபா எம்.பி., சிவா, பாரதிதாசன் பல்கலை துணைவேந்தர் பொன்ன வைக்கோ, வக்பு வாரியத்தலைவர் அப்துல் ரகுமான் உட்பட பலர் பங்கேற்கின்றனர்.கிறிஸ்தவ தமிழ் மாநாடாக இருந்தாலும், அனைத்து மதத்தைச் சேர்ந்த தமிழறிஞர்களும், அமெரிக்கா, மலேசியா உட்பட பல்வேறு நாடுகள் மற்றும் இந்தியாவை சேர்ந்த கிறிஸ்தவ தமிழ் அறிஞர்கள், கல்வியாளர்கள், எழுத்தாளர்கள், கவிஞர்கள், ஆய்வாளர்கள் உட்பட 500க்கும் மேற்பட்டோர் மாநாட்டில் பங்கேற்கின்றனர்.
திருச்சபையில் கிறிஸ்தவ இலக்கியங்களின் படைப்பாற்றல் குறித்தும், பழைய நூற்றாண்டுகளில் கருத்துச் செறிவுமிக்க பல இலக்கிய நுணுக்கங்களை ஆராயவும் இம்மாநாடு உறுதுணையாக இருக்கும். மாநாட்டில், கிறிஸ்தவ இலக்கிய சங்கம் வெளியிட்டுள்ள புத்தகங்களின் கண்காட்சி மற்றும் விற்பனை நடக்கிறது.
சென்னை ஆசியவியல் பள்ளி நிறுவனர் ஜான்சாமுவேல், திருச்சி இதழியல் கல்லூரி முதல்வர் அமுதன் அடிகள், மதுரை இறையியல் கல்லூரி முதல்வர் ஞானவரம், பாகவதர் கிளமென்ட் வேதநாயகம் சாஸ்திரியார், நாதஸ்வர வித்வான் ஷேக் சின்ன மௌலானா பேரன் பால்ஷேக் சின்னகாசிம், மலேசியா கிறிஸ்தவ தமிழ் எழுத்தாளர் சங்கத் தலைவர் பேராசிரியர் செல்லத்துரை ஆகியோருக்கு விருதுகள் வழங்கப்படும்.
கோவையில் நடக்கவிருக்கும் செம்மொழி மாநாட்டில் கிறிஸ்தவ தமிழ் இலக்கியத்துக்காக அரசிடம் தனி இடம் கோரப்பட்டுள்ளது. தென்னிந்திய, கத்தோலிக்க, தமிழ்நாடு லூத்தரன் திருச்சபை இணைந்து, பாரதிதாசன் பல்கலையில் கிறிஸ்தவ தமிழ் குறித்த பாடத்திட்டம் கொண்டு வர முயற்சி மேற்கொண்டுள்ளோம்.இவ்வாறு அவர்கள் கூறினர்
Role of Christian missionaries in popularising Tamil literature hailed

TIRUCHI: Christian missionaries who came to Tamil Nadu played a crucial role in not only popularising Tamil literature all over the world but also in opening up new avenues in the literary style.
The glory of Tamil language reached greater heights through their efforts, observed speakers at the inaugural of the three-day World Christian Tamil Conference, organised jointly by the World Christian Tamil Academy, Church of South India (CSI) Tiruchi - Thanjavur Diocese and the Bishop Heber College here on Friday.
Rev. G. Paul Vasanthakumar, CSI Bishop, specifically referred to the contribution by Veeramamunivar. His work ‘Thembavani' was a treasure to Tamil literature. Veeramamunivar was crucial in bringing about a new style of prose in Tamil literature.
M. Ponnavaikko, Vice-Chancellor of Bharathidasan University, traced the glory of Christian Tamil literature. He said that the missionaries played a pivotal role in printing Tamil literature, taking advantage of the printing press. Tamil was the root language for several foreign countries. The conference should throw light on services rendered by missionaries in the order of G.U. Pope in translating Tamil literary and religious works into English.
P.S. Esudasan, working president of the academy, Rev. H.A. Martin, Bishop, TELC; M. Marcus Deepan Boominathan, Principal of Bishop Heber College; Kavignar Amudan and Vaishali Kannadasan were among those who spoke.
Earlier, nagaswaram artiste Paul Sheik Chinna Kasim was honoured with a title ‘Arulisai Maamani.'
TIRUCHI: The sixth World Christian Tamil conference will be held in the city from May 21 to 23.
On behalf of the World Christian Tamil Academy, the Church of South India (CSI), Tiruchi – Thanjavur Diocese and Bishop Heber College, Tiruchi will jointly organise the conference at the Bishop Heber College.
Around 500 to 600 delegates including some foreign delegates from Malaysia and the United States are expected to attend the three-day conference. Addressing the media here on Tuesday, Rt. Rev. G. Paul Vasanthakumar, Bishop, CSI Tiruchi – Thanjavur Diocese said 130 research papers all related to Tamil Christian literature would be presented in four sessions during the course of the conference that is to be held after a gap of 14 years.
Global Christians opt for classical Tamil

The sixth World Christian Tamil Conference concluded with resolutions to use classic Tamil in prayers and worship and promote it through Christian institutions.
The conference adopted a resolution to take special efforts for promoting the classical Tamil literature and also to adopt pure Tamil words in the prayers in the churches, said Church of South India Bishop Paul Vasanthakumar of Tiruchirapalli-Thanjavur.
World Christian Tamil Academy and the CSI Tiruchirapalli-Thanjavur diocese organized the May 22-24 conference in Tiruchirapalli.
The conference decided to create a separate chair in the Bharathidasan University in Tiruchirapalli for research in Tamil Christian literature works, the bishop said.
They would also establish a separate wing by the World Christian Tamil Academy in Tiruchirapalli’s Bishop Heber College library to enable the students and scholars to get all Christian Tamil literature works, the bishop added.
State Social Welfare Minster Geetha Jeevan, who addressed the concluding, lauded the contributions made by Christian scholars and poets several centuries ago for the development of Tamil language.
She said a number of research articles by Christian Tamil scholars were received for the souvenir to be released at the World Tamil Classical Conference to be held in Coimbatore in June.
She also presented awards to four Christian Tamil scholars for their service for the development of Tamil language at the conference.

The global Tamil Christians are coming together to participate in a conference in Tiruchi from May 21. The sixth edition of World Christian Tamil Conference will be held for three days. It may be noted it is happening a month before the state-sponsored World Classical Tamil Conference in Coimbatore.
Over 500 delegates, including scholars from US and Malaysia, are expected to participate. About 130 research papers would be presented during the three-day religious meet jointly sponsored by World Christian Academy and the Church of South India (CSI), Tiruchy-Tanjavur Diocese and the Bishop Heber College, diocese Bishop Rev G Paul Vasantha Kumar told media persons in Tiruchi yesterday.
The fifth edition of the Word Tamil Christian Conference was held in New York in 1996. The present meet at Tiruchi was being held after a gap of 14 years, he said.
Union Minister for IT and Communication A Raja and Tamil Nadu Ministers K N Nehru, N Selvaraj and Geetha Jeevan would attend the conference, Paul said.
A book exhibition would be arranged by Christian Literary Association on the side lines of the conference, he added
